Sometimes, the best trips are unplanned, or things go wrong, and then, as if by magic, the most unbelievable things happen! What an experience you had with the Northern Lights - super lucky and it all came together at the right time. Yes, you were tired, and the trip was cut short, but who cares, having experienced one of the most magical things on the planet! Now you are glad you carried the camera equipment! I am among the serious tarp carriers. I would also pack a wool blanket with blanket pins to ward off the cold. A few contractor-strength poly bags would have done more for you than the tube shelter. Mostly, I would hope that I did not find myself stranded in this terrain: too many hummocks and rocks and too few trees to build a raised bed to keep out of the water. Even so, hardship survival is no fun.

Amazing :D 🌲🌲- I have been watching for the last year or so and love all your content. It inspired me and my wife to get out and adventure, which we also now record for our own keepsakes and sharing. Love that sentiment :D We were out the same weekend, the same wildlife, animals, intense heat (only, in Scotland, so thankfully wind cooled :D ) -- but we missed the northern lights as I fell ill some 600m up in the mountains and fell asleep by 10:30pm, so grateful to see you bring your trip and those northern lights to life, and only hope I will get the chance to see them so vibrant on our journeys! :) Keep it up! 🥰🥰 🎥
